ABOUT

Hello!

My name is Lina and I am a Gibraltar-based live music lover/black outfit wearer/coffee consumer and, most importantly, graphic designer from Latvia. I live and breathe design, and it’s at the heart of everything I do – from cliched behaviour such as purchasing products based on exquisite packaging design and judging other people’s font choices, to bigger things, like deciding how I spend my free time and where should I go for my next getaway based on where I could catch one of my favourite artist’s exhibitions.

One such decision was to live abroad just for a while which has turned into full-time residing here in the South of the Ibernian Peninsula to soak up the Sun. As it turns out, the Sun is the magic ingredient which never disappoints to get my creative juices flowing and, honestly, inspires me the most as it offers endless opportunities to immerse myself outdoors and enjoy nature. And, with all that energy soaked up, my aim is to unapologetically live the most creative life possible by being my most authentic self.

On this note, I will be straight up honest – I am way better at reading client’s minds and creating kickass layouts than forming a sentence. So keep exploring to find out more.

Ciao!

Lina

MY WORK

What a journey it has been to evolve into a confident and professional graphic designer – getting hands-on creating logos, brand identities, full ranges of corporate materials, presentations for household names in Baltic States and Gibraltar. Working with interest-sparking projects for both, digital and print, but my oh my, print design, in a form of magazines, has stolen my heart!

Yes, I do believe print’s not dead. Hence, instead of shopping for dresses and shoes online, you will find me adding to basket kilos of magazines and barely making it on to flights due to me losing track of time and getting lost between the shelves at travelstore’s magazine aisle (fingers crossed I don’t actually miss a flight like this one day). Apart from print magazines, another type of medium that quite literally sparks joy in me (eyes never lie) is collage, be it analogue or digital – both are great tools in their own unique way!

I rediscovered collage a while ago when I got bored of doing things the right way when it was, and still is, a way of exploring stream  consciousness ideas and experimenting with new approaches and techniques. And I am not shy to admit, whenever these two, magazines and collages collide, my soul sings!
